Why this course

More than driving

Families, executives, lodges and hotels want a driver they can trust: safe, punctual, discreet and polished from the first greeting to the last goodbye.

Private families, executives, lodges, guest houses and transfer companies all need professional drivers.

Stand out

Door protocol, refreshments, luggage and a clean car are what clients remember.

Stay safe

Smooth, defensive driving, good route planning and knowing what to do in an emergency.

The outcome

What you will be able to do

By the end of the five days you can:

  • Get your learner's and driver's licence with our help, then apply for your Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)

  • Do a daily pre-trip check: tyres, oil, water, lights, fuel, brakes and wipers

  • Keep a service record and report faults before they become problems

  • Wash and dry the car properly and valet the interior

  • Stock the car with water, tissues, a charger and an umbrella

  • Plan the route, check traffic and arrive early for every pick-up

  • Greet passengers, open and close doors with the right protocol, and handle luggage

  • Set the temperature and music the passenger prefers, and offer refreshments

  • Use Google Maps and Waze safely, including traffic, alternative routes and offline maps

  • Drive smoothly and defensively, and never use a hand-held phone

  • Stay calm after a breakdown or accident and know who to call

  • Keep your passenger's business private

Questions

Before you enrol

Still unsure? Call or WhatsApp +27 62 495 8450.

Do I need a driver's licence to start?

No. If you don't have one yet, we help you get it: we prepare you for your learner's licence, help you with driving lessons and get you ready for your driving test. Once you have your licence, we guide you through your PrDP.

What is a PrDP and do I need one?

A Professional Driving Permit lets you drive passengers for payment. You must be at least 21, medically fit and have no disqualifying convictions. It is valid for two years. We explain the steps; you apply at your driving licence testing centre.

Does Injongo issue licences or permits?

No. Licences and PrDPs are issued by the licensing authorities. We prepare you, help you with lessons and walk you through every application.

Do I need my own car?

Tell us whether you have access to a car for practical sessions. Employer groups usually train in their own vehicles.

Does it include first aid?

The course covers what to do in an emergency. A full first aid certificate is a separate course.

What certificate do I get?

Participants who meet Injongo's attendance and course-completion requirements receive an Injongo certificate of completion. This course does not award SAQA credits or a registered qualification.

Where is the training?

In Jeffreys Bay, Knysna, George, Plettenberg Bay, Oudtshoorn, Cape St Francis and Mossel Bay, or on site at your workplace for employer groups.

Will you help me find a job?

We help graduates with CVs, interviews and introductions to employers. We can't promise a job, but we work to connect every graduate with employers.
